“During my recent visit to Nagpur, Thackeray said after unveiling a life-size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Ramtek town in eastern Maharashtra. Amit Shah Had held a closed-door meeting with BJP leaders, in which he had asked them to create division among the leaders of opposition parties and stop me and Sharad Pawar politically. Why speak in a closed room? He should say this in front of people.
He alleged why Shah wants to eliminate Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar politically. So that BJP can loot Maharashtra. Thackeray said the BJP had broken its three-decade-old alliance with the (undivided) Shiv Sena in 2014 (before the assembly elections). “However, Shiv Sena was successful in winning 63 seats,” he said.
Question on BJP’s intentions
Thackeray questioned whether Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat agreed with the BJP’s “Hindutva”, which involves breaking other parties and bringing (opposition leaders) into its fold. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Thackeray said, “The upcoming elections are not for power, but are important to save Maharashtra from loot.”
Uddhav Thackeray appealed to the people to give a massive victory to Maha Vikas Aghadi and ensure victory in all the six assembly constituencies of Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency. Congress and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leaders – Sunil Kedar and Anil Deshmukh shared the stage with Thackeray.
